Jayden’s Story
“If I had a superpower, I would choose to be invisible to that I could hide from cancer and not have to have it,” said Jayden.
Jayden was just a normal 9-year-old from Birmingham who was playing in the pool and jumping around one Monday. The next day, he woke up with a stomach ache that wouldn’t go away. His parents took him to the doctor and they were told the devastating news; Jayden had stage 3A Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. He had tumors throughout his body with the biggest one on his heart and wrapped around his spinal cord.
Cancer is the second leading cause of death in children ages 1-14.
MIla’s Story
“Seeing what my daughter has to go through is the most difficult challenge. I pray that she will be cured and never have to deal with cancer again,” said Mila’s Mom, Christina.
On August 23, 2018, 20-month-old Mila was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), a type of cancer of the blood and bone marrow that affects white blood cells.
Mila’s doctor said fighting leukemia will be a marathon. And he was right. Mila's marathon treatment included 26 months and 17 days of being in and out of Children’s Medical Center Dallas. Finally, on November 11, 2020, Mila finished her last day of chemo. Her mom hopes that she will never have to do a marathon again.
Worldwide, a child is diagnosed with cancer every 3 minutes.
Payton’s Story
“I HOPE... I hope you never have to hear the words; your child has cancer. I hope you never have to hear; the prognosis is not good,” said Payton’s Mom, Kimberley
On January 24, 2018, Payton’s parents heard the phrase “your child has cancer”. Their 15-year-old daughter was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer. Payton had been in remission for 11 months until March 2020 when her Ewing Sarcoma came back with a mass by her spine and other tumors throughout her body.
Your donations now will continue to help us fund grant requests from top-ranked organizations across the country. Any size donation can help children like Jayden, Myla and Payton.
