The Green Bay Packers have officially kicked off their drive against a different kind of opponent: cancer. The team says its Packers Vs. Cancer campaign began Tuesday. Limited-edition Vince Lombardi cancer awareness hats were made available for purchase at the Packers Pro Shop, with $5 from each hat sale going to the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation. Read more

Packers to Bring Cancer Awareness Effort to Appleton North-Appleton West Football Game Friday

The Green Bay Packers, along with the NFL and Spectrum Sports, will bring the Packers Vs. Cancer initiative to Appleton North High School on Friday, Oct. 6, when the Appleton North Lightning takes on the Appleton West Terrors. The Packers Vs. The Green Bay Packers and Exact Sciences, the manufacturer of Cologuard, are teaming up to promote colorectal cancer awareness throughout the 2017 football season. Colon cancer took the life of legendary Packers coach Vince Lombardi at age 57 and almost 50 years later remains the No. 2 cancer killer in the United States, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Despite being considered one of the most preventable yet least prevented forms of cancer and having high survival rate when treated early, millions of Americans are still reluctant to get screened for colon cancer or are not getting screened at recommended intervals. Read more

Green Bay Packers Launch Packers vs. Cancer Initiative this October

Each October, the Green Bay Packers and the NFL have customarily teamed up to raise awareness for breast cancer and to recognize breast cancer survivors. This year, the NFL and all 32 teams will be working together to raise awareness for various kinds of cancers, including breast cancer.

With these enhanced cancer awareness efforts in mind, the Packers are launching Packers Vs. Cancer, an initiative aimed at raising awareness of all cancers. Read more
